The short version: Acrux Studio is a desktop application that runs on your computer. It captures and processes your screen, camera, microphone, and audio locally, on your device. Acrux Studio sends no analytics or telemetry unless you switch it on, and section 4a lists exactly what that switch sends. Your video and audio go only where you send them: to the streaming services you connect, and to recording files you save on your own disk. An optional Acrux account exists only to hold a Pro subscription (section 4b). This website itself uses only privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (aggregate visits and referrers), never your personal data.

This policy explains how the Acrux Studio desktop application ("Acrux Studio", "we", "us") handles your information. It applies to the Acrux Studio app for Windows and to this website (acruxapp.stream). By using Acrux Studio or the site you agree to this policy.

1. What Acrux Studio accesses on your device

To do its job as a streaming and recording tool, Acrux Studio accesses the following on your computer, with your direction:

Screen and window capture: the displays or application windows you add as sources.
Camera: any webcam you add as a source.
Microphone: microphones you enable in the audio mixer.
System and per-application audio: desktop audio and the audio of specific apps you choose to capture.

All of this is captured, mixed, and processed on your device. It is never sent to Acrux Studio. Acrux Studio only accesses these sources while you have them active in a scene.

2. Where your data goes

Scenes, settings, preferences	Stored locally on your device (e.g. `%APPDATA%\Acrux` on Windows). Never transmitted.

3. Connected accounts (Twitch, Kick, and similar)

When you connect a streaming or chat account, you sign in through that platform's own official sign-in page. Acrux Studio never sees or stores your password. The platform returns an access token, which Acrux Studio stores locally on your device and uses to act on your behalf: connecting to chat, starting your stream, or performing moderation you initiate. That token is sent only to the platform it belongs to. You can disconnect an account in Settings at any time, which removes the stored token.

3a. Google user data (YouTube)

When you connect a YouTube account, Acrux Studio uses YouTube API Services to act on your behalf. This section explains exactly what Google user data Acrux Studio touches, how long it is kept, and how to delete it.

What Acrux Studio accesses: your YouTube channel's id and name (to show which account is connected), your channel's live stream ingest key (so you can go live without copying it by hand), and your live broadcast settings and live chat when you use those features. Acrux Studio requests this through Google's official consent screen and never sees your password.
Where it is stored: on your device only. Your Google access token, refresh token, channel name, and stream key are stored locally in Acrux Studio's settings (%APPDATA%\Acrux on Windows). We operate no database or server that stores your Google user data. The one server involved is our small token service, which completes the sign-in handshake with Google. It forwards the response to your device and does not store or log your tokens or any other Google user data.
How long it is kept (retention): only for as long as you keep the account connected. Acrux Studio keeps your Google user data on your device so the connection keeps working between sessions, and for no other purpose. There is no server-side copy to retain.
How to delete it: sign out of YouTube in Acrux Studio's Settings, which immediately and permanently deletes the stored tokens, channel details, and fetched stream key from your device. Uninstalling Acrux Studio (or deleting the %APPDATA%\Acrux folder) removes all locally stored data as well. You can additionally revoke Acrux Studio's access from your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, which invalidates the tokens on Google's side.

Acrux Studio's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Acrux Studio does not use Google user data for advertising, does not sell it, does not transfer it to third parties except to provide the features you use, and does not use it to train AI or machine learning models. By using the YouTube features you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

4. Chat

If you connect a chat account, Acrux Studio connects directly to that platform's chat service using your account and displays messages within the app (and in your broadcast only if you add a chat source to a scene). Chat content is handled by the platform. Acrux Studio does not store your chat history on any server.

4a. Optional diagnostics ("Help improve Acrux Studio")

In Settings, General there is a switch called Help improve Acrux Studio. It is off by default. While it is on, the app sends one small report per session to our server (entitlements.acruxapp.stream, hosted on Cloudflare). The report contains:

App version and Windows build.
Hardware: CPU model and thread count, memory size, graphics cards (model, driver version, video memory), monitor resolutions and refresh rates.
How the engine ran: which video encoder path was used, whether a fallback fired, the audio devices opened and their formats, bitrate adjustments and GPU-memory pressure events, crash counts.
Which features were in use: kinds of sources in your scenes, whether the replay buffer, per-app audio or virtual camera were on, which streaming platforms were connected, your role (streamer or recorder), session length.
A random installation id, and the country Cloudflare derives from the connection (the IP address itself is not stored).

It never contains stream titles, chat messages, viewer numbers, file paths, window names, or any captured media. If you are signed in to an Acrux account while the switch is on, the report is linked to that account so we can look up your machine when you ask for support. Switching it off stops the reports immediately; deleting your account (section 4b) deletes every report linked to it.

4b. Acrux account and Pro subscription

Signing in with Google creates an Acrux account. We store the account identifier Google gives us, your display name and verified email address, when you signed in and from how many devices, the app version and Windows build of each device, and the country Cloudflare derives from the connection. Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record; we store the status and renewal dates of your subscription, never card details. You can delete the account from Settings, Account at any time once the subscription is not active, which removes all of the above.

5. What we do not do

We do not collect anything about your streams, recordings or chat, on any setting.
We do not send diagnostics unless you switch them on (section 4a), and the app does not "phone home" otherwise. (The website's privacy-friendly analytics are described in section 8.)
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone.
We do not access your captured media for any purpose other than producing the stream/recording you have set up.

6. Third-party services

When you stream, chat, or sign in to a third-party platform through Acrux Studio, your use of that platform is governed by its privacy policy, not this one. Examples include Twitch, Kick, and YouTube/Google. If you install Acrux Studio from the Microsoft Store, your acquisition of the app is also subject to Microsoft's privacy statement.

7. Data security

Because Acrux Studio keeps your data on your own device, its security depends largely on your computer's security. Access tokens are stored in your user profile, protected by your operating system's user account. We recommend keeping your OS and Acrux Studio up to date.

8. This website

This site (acruxapp.stream) is a static website hosted on Cloudflare. It uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand basic traffic, which pages are viewed and where visitors arrive from, in aggregate. This is privacy-friendly by design: it sets no cookies, does not fingerprint you, and does not collect or store data that identifies you personally. We use it only to see which pages and referral sources are working, never to build a profile of any individual. The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change how Acrux Studio handles data, we will update this page and revise the "last updated" date. If a future version of Acrux Studio ever introduces optional features that send data off your device (for example, an opt-in cloud feature), we will disclose that clearly before you use it.
